President Jim Day's first and second postings were filled with such energy and optimism it inspired me to begin to blog.
I'm Paul Keller's (English) cousin and I'm not sure if my sister Kate and I have a direct 2G link. Whether Connie Keller, one of Jean Keller's younger sisters ever attended KAS I'm not sure, but we'll come along on the strength of our other Keller links.
Like Jim, our parents were a missionary couple and of course, Paul and Frieda, Connie's parents were too.
My yearning to set foot on Lushan again has been nagging away at me since departing from the Guling CIM school in 1950 when it closed down. I just long to walk through bamboo woods and find that view over the Chang Jiang valley that feels as though you can see the whole world spread before you. I wonder if the vacation cabins are still there - there is a photo of what looks like one on the offical Lushan website, vine-covered and derelict-looking.
So, Kate and I are really looking forward to seeing all of you (especially our cousins, of course) on the Mountain, but I guess I won't be walking up this time like I did as a twelve year old in '48.
